It’s a skill. It feels natural to me and I enjoy learning about grammar. Gimme all the sentences to diagram.
It’s self-care. From journaling to daydreaming, putting words down on paper helps to unclutter my mind, clear my conscious and unleash my imagination. Writing gives me clarity, motivation and freedom. It beckons me to the place where I can most be myself.
It’s a gift I want to steward well for God. We all have different gifts that work together for the glory of God. It’s my hope that God will use my words as a vessel to reach others, make connections, and find community in ways other mediums might not be able to.
More than anything, I want other women (and men even!) to experience the power of words. They can be used to encourage, inspire, and instruct. They have the ability to convey emotion, bring comfort and build faith. In a world where each day can be a battle, using words for good is sometimes the best and highest job to be done. I want my words to be used for good, to brighten and strengthen others. I write to share with others the hope I know, that it’s real and comes in many forms. I write to help others find the hope in their every day.
